About Mani
Hi, I’m Mani, CA(SA)
I’m a Chartered Accountant with more than 20 years of experience in finance, accounting and investing.
I created Rands with Mani because money is often made to feel far more complicated than it needs to be.
Most of us were never properly taught how to budget, save, invest or build wealth — we were just expected to figure it out.
That’s where I come in.
Money, made simpler
Rands with Mani is here to help South Africans make smarter money decisions without the jargon, guilt or overwhelm.
You’ll find practical guidance on:
- Making more money
- Budgeting and saving
- Investing
- Teaching kids and teens about money
- Useful money tools and calculators
Everything is designed to be simple, practical and easy to actually use.
Why I care about this
I believe understanding money gives you more than a better bank balance.
It gives you confidence, choices and freedom.
And I’m especially passionate about helping the next generation learn these skills earlier — which is why I also created How to Make More Money Than Your Parents.
Start where you are
You don’t need to fix everything at once.
Just learn one thing, make one better decision, and keep going.
That’s how wealth gets built.
Smarter money. Bigger life.

Why This Blog Exists
Too many young people step into adulthood without knowing how money really works. Schools don’t teach it, and most parents were never taught it either. I started this website to change that—by making financial education modern, actionable, and fun.
Money should be talked about at the dinner table, not hidden away in confusing bank statements. I keep it simple, I keep it fun, and I keep it real—because the best financial lessons are the ones you’ll actually use.
